business cards!

In line with putting my website together I really want to design and get some business cards printed!
This will be a great way of getting people to view the work on my website as I can put the link straight onto my business cards and hopefully they will be intrigued and they will have a gander at my work. Business card are also a way of getting you name out there and getting it known, if someone has your business card they really don't have an excuse to forget your name!

So something that I am going to do is start thinking of different designs and such that could work for my business cards and then find the best place to get them printed up so I can start distributing them!

website..

One thing that I have started working on since completing the previous pdp is putting my website together. It is not something that I stated I wanted to do on my previous pdp but when i started thinking about how I could put together a digital portfolio I though that the best way to go about this is to put together my own website where i can show my different work and it will be a digital space that is solely for my work and if people want to view my 'portfolio' i can direct them in the direction of my website where they can view my work.

I am going to take the duration of this module to get my website to its best standard and to get it up and running for when I graduate!

Digital Vs Print

When it comes to my portfolio I am starting to steer towards a digital portfolio. I feel that with the type of work I am interested in producing within the photographic field - being nature and landscape based work, a digital portfolio would work better that a printed portfolio. With the type of audience / employers I am aiming at and with everything these days being done on computers digitally the quickest and easiest way to get my work out there are for it to get noticed by publishers and editors and such is an online space where my most recent and best work will be stored. A domain in which I can direct people towards if they want to see my work.

Although I say this, I still like the idea of having a printed portfolio because like i have said in the past, not all people like to view work online, they prefer to look a printed pieces and they get a better feel for what your work will be like after it is printed up and displayed and things like that. As well as this some people just prefer to have the work in front of them to look at that way rather that just seeing it on a screen where they cant really look into the image in as much detail as it is in one position on the screen in front of them and they cant really do anything with it.

So, I think that I have definitely steered towards having both a digital and printed portfolio but at this moment in time i am focusing more on putting together a digital portfolio as it is something i want to spend time putting together and making sure it shows my work to its best ability and it as good as it can be as displaying my work.

This brief is like a continuation from a previous professional frameworks brief and runs alongside a current brief for my fmp, my previous personal development plan way pretty basic and simple yet the point I made were and are valid to me, some of the points are ones that I will continue to work on, some I have managed to succeed in and since I finished that personal development plan there are a fair few different things that I really want to work on personally and within the photographic field.

I have thought about a few different things that I still need to work on and they are
1) portfolio - print of digital??
2) website -  design and make live.
3) business cards
4) what direction do i want to go in?
5) experience

these are just a few of the different things that I have been thinking about and want to work on within this brief to help me better and further myself.

Previous PDP

Here is the first personal development plan that I completed for a previous brief, this pdp is pretty simple and the points I make are valid yet i don't feel that they are as good as they could be whilst going into this brief. I want to expand on this pdp a lot more within this brief are add some very valid and useful things to it that will help me through the next few months of uni as well as after uni when i have graduated and am out in the big wild world.
